Daily Yolk

Daily Yolk is a visual identity concept for a modern all day breakfast spot created for slow mornings and good moods. At the centre of the identity is a relaxed yolk mascot that uses its egg white as a blanket and chills on toast, giving the brand its distinctive and easygoing personality. The visual system combines bold typography, hand drawn illustration and a focused black, white and yolk yellow palette. Yellow acts as the main visual cue, bringing warmth and energy across the packaging, posters and supporting brand assets while keeping the identity clean, cohesive and easy to recognise.

YOKO

YOKO is a visual identity concept for a contemporary matcha café, created for an Instagram design brief competition. The identity brings together Japanese inspired references with a clean, modern and bold visual direction. The custom wordmark draws inspiration from the structure and rhythm of Japanese characters, while the illustrated figures follow a similarly simple, expressive line style. One character represents a matcha bowl, while the other is inspired by the shape of a traditional bamboo chasen. A rich green, based on the natural colour of matcha powder, forms the core of the palette and brings the typography, characters, packaging and supporting visual assets together into a distinctive and cohesive brand world.

Street Quack

Street Quack is a concept coffee brand where coffee culture meets the energy of skateboarding and streetwear. Built around a bold duck mascot and the tagline “Caffeine on Deck”, the identity was designed to feel distinctive, confident and easy to recognise. The visual system combines bold typography, character illustration, a strong colour palette, packaging and merchandise to create a cohesive brand world that can move naturally from the coffee shop to the street.

The Bunch

The Bunch is a modern vegetarian burger brand created as an alternative to the heavy, meat focused and brotherhood driven energy often associated with burger branding. Instead of relying on predictable leafy greens or overly feminine visual cues, the identity uses bold typography, hand drawn characters and a confident pink and black colour palette to feel fresh, inclusive and made for everyone. Built around the classic trio of patty, fries and sauce, each character has its own personality, but together they form one messy little crew. The visual identity extends across packaging and supporting brand assets, creating a distinctive and recognisable brand world. Same foundation, different attitude. Messy by nature.

Hi, I’m Mariann, a freelance visual identity designer and illustrator based in Transylvania, working with clients worldwide. I completed both my BA and MA in Graphic Arts at the University of Art and Design in Cluj Napoca. Since then, I have worked across different areas of design and visual arts, gaining experience in graphic design, interior design, mural painting and other creative disciplines. This broad background has shaped the way I approach ideas, composition and visual storytelling. Over time, I have specialised in logo design and visual identity systems, including packaging, merchandise and other visual brand assets. Because of my background in graphic arts, illustration naturally plays an important role in my work. I often combine custom lettering, illustration and playful graphic elements to create distinctive and cohesive identities for brands with personality. My approach balances character with clarity, with a strong focus on creating visual systems that feel memorable, recognisable and practical across different touchpoints.
